TRAFFIC ADVISORY for Immediate Release May 22, 2008:
Utility Relocation on Route 7 Service Road

Section of Service Road to be closed for several weeks

Motorists who use the service road along the south side of Route 7 in Tysons Corner are advised that a section of the road from Marshalls Drive to Route 123 will be closed for approximately four weeks beginning May 27.  Both east-bound and west-bound traffic in this section of the service road will be blocked for utility relocation in preparation for the future construction of the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project, according to the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.

Access to all businesses, including Koons Chevrolet and the Marshalls Shopping Center will remain open, but motorists should stay alert for changing routes.  Variable message signs and construction barrels will be placed in the area to alert motorists to traffic pattern changes on the service road and into businesses.  The work will be done weather permitting.

For emergency utility construction-related issues, the public should call the 24-hour-a-day HOTLINE at 877-585-6789.  For general Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project information visit: www.dullesmetro.com or call 703-572-0506.

The project is being managed by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.
